The drama that played out in the Adamawa Assembly in Yola on December 29, 2018, also saw lawmakers clash over the mase.

The Speaker, however, did not give the reason for the impeachment of the three lawmakers.

Reacting to the development, Tsamdu insisted that he remained the deputy speaker and that he has not been impeached.

He also condemned the purported list of lawmakers who signed the impeachment notice.

“That was an attempt for impeachment, it is not impeachment,” the embattled deputy speaker said.

He added, “They were only 13 members out of 17 that signed, I read the names one after the other.”

“The other four that they are claiming, they didn’t sign because they were not in the chamber. The law says that you must be present in the chamber.”
