President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday condoled with Channels TV management and the family of Precious Owolabi, an NYSC member who died from a gunshot wound sustained during a clash between members of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) and the police.
He also condoled with the Nigeria Police leadership over the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Usman Umar, of the FCT Command who died during the violent clash.

President Buhari expressed his condolence in a tweet on his official handle @MBuhari
He said the commitment of the deceased NYSC member and the police officer is saluted “even in this time of grief.”
He also reassured Abuja residents to go about their lawful activities adding that law enforcement agencies are taking action to safeguard the nation.

Owolabi, 23, died of a gunshot wound he sustained while covering the clash between the police and the Shiite protesters on Monday in Abuja.
He was until his death, an NYSC member with Channels TV.
Also, a police communique issued by DCP Frank Mba on Monday confirmed the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at the FCT Command, Usman Umar.
According to the statement, two Assistant Superintendents of Police were also injured in the clash.
