Nigerian sprinter Favour Ashe clocked 10.04 seconds to break Justin Gatlin’s (10.08) Tennessee freshman record on his way to winning 100m gold at the Southeastern Conference Championships.

Ashe’s time also moved him to second all-time in history behind olympian and 2019 world 100m champion Christian Coleman.

His title on Saturday was the third won by the vols during the three-day meet.

With his 100m crown, Ashe who is from the Ughelli, Nigeria, and discovered by the making of champions becomes the ninth vol in program history to win the SEC title in the 100m/100y dash.
