Two commercial motorcyclists, otherwise known as Okada riders have been killed in the Akoko area in the northern part of Ondo State by suspected armed robbers.
In one of the cases that happened in Arigidi Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government area, the victim, 28-year-old Dada Jatto’s mutilated corpse was found near the Arigidi community along Okeagbe Road, three days after he went missing. His motorcycle is yet to be found.
Another Okada rider was said to have been lured to a spot between Ikare and Arigidi Akoko, where the robbers smashed his head and made away with his motorcycle.
Residents of the community revealed that the injured motorcyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died. His motorcycle was said to have been recovered at Akunu Akoko, a boundary town with Kogi State.
The Spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, SP ‘Funmllayo Odunlami-Omisanya confirmed the incidents to our Correspondent in a telephone conversation.
She revealed that police had commenced an investigation with the hope of apprehending those behind the killings.
