The Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Hassan Muhammad, emphasized the need for the public to exercise caution, especially during the harmattan season, known for its heightened risk of fire outbreaks.
“We urge all residents to handle fire and flammable materials with extreme care during this harmattan period,” Muhammad advised.
“Also, motorists should obey traffic laws and drive cautiously, especially during the festive season, to prevent road accidents.”
The Fire Service further called on citizens to report emergencies promptly and avoid making false calls, which could hinder their ability to respond to genuine crises.
As the harmattan season intensifies, residents are encouraged to adopt fire safety measures to prevent further tragedies.
