The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), led by its Chairman, Mao Ohuabunwa, held a meeting at the official residence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike in Abuja on Sunday.

Delivering his opening address, Ohuabunwa said the BoT is making notable progress in constituting caretaker committees across states where congresses have yet to be conducted.

He noted that these committees will provide the foundation for rebuilding party structures ahead of future congresses.

The BoT Chairman further disclosed that the party has taken disciplinary action against individuals whose conduct threatened its stability, emphasizing that such measures were necessary to protect the PDP from internal subversion and to restore confidence among members nationwide.

“Recent actions taken within the party reflect our unwavering resolve to uphold the rule of law and defend the constitution of the PDP,” Ohuabunwa said.

He urged BoT members to rise above personal sentiments and work with unity of purpose, stressing their role in strengthening the party.

“Our duty is clear — to consolidate the reforms underway, deepen internal cohesion, and ensure that the PDP emerges stronger and more united. The BoT is the moral compass and conscience of the party.

“We must ensure that this party always stands to be counted, in full compliance with the laws of the federation, the party’s constitution, and guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission,” he added.

In attendance at the meeting are the Acting National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed; the National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu; and BoT members from states across the federation as well as the FCT.
