Bagos Joins APC, Backs Tinubu, Mutfwang On Security And Economic Reforms

Bagos expressed confidence that collaborative leadership under the APC would accelerate peace-building efforts.

Former member of the House of Representatives, Dachung Bagos, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring his support for President Bola Tinubu and Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, on key reforms aimed at tackling insecurity and strengthening the economy.

Bagos, in a statement on Saturday, said his decision to align with the ruling party was driven by a clear, reform-oriented ideology focused on addressing Plateau State’s security challenges and advancing sustainable economic development.

“I have formally joined the APC with a clear reform-driven ideology focused on tackling insecurity and strengthening our economy,” Bagos said.

“I remain committed to supporting President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, in advancing state police, local government autonomy, and economic reforms for a secure Plateau and a prosperous Nigeria.”

He noted that the push for state police and greater local government autonomy would strengthen grassroots security architecture and improve governance delivery, particularly in rural and conflict-prone communities.

Bagos’ declaration comes amid growing political realignments in Plateau State, following Governor Mutfwang’s recent entry into the APC, a development widely seen as reshaping the state’s political landscape.

Political observers say the convergence of key political figures around a shared reform agenda signals renewed momentum for the APC in Plateau State, with security, economic recovery, and institutional reforms emerging as central themes.

Bagos expressed confidence that collaborative leadership under the APC would accelerate peace-building efforts, restore investor confidence, and improve livelihoods across Plateau State and the country as a whole.
