Katsina Govt Approves Renovation Of NYSC Camp

The government urged corps members to feel at home in Katsina.

The Katsina Government has approved total renovation of the NYSC Orientation Camp and total repair of the camp power generating set to ensure that corps members serving in the state enjoy their stay.

The State NYSC Coordinator, Sa’idu Ibrahim, disclosed this on Friday during the nationwide swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch A Stream 1 Corps members deployed to the state.

Sa’idu further announced that the Katsina State Government has also promised to procure 1,000 mattresses for the camp, appreciating the government for giving N500,000 to each of the three female corps members whose properties were destroyed by a fire outbreak in the camp.

In this particular stream, a total of 945 corps members have so far been registered as of last night’s count, which comprises 517 males and 428 females.

The corps members, while receiving the NYSC oath of allegiance from the State Chief Judge, Justice Musa Abubakar, pledged to follow at all times the leadership of those in the authority irrespective of their social or religious differences.

They also pledged to shun bribery, corruption, and other forms of fraud while serving the country.

The Katsina State Deputy Governor, Faruk Jobe, while declaring the ceremony open, urged corps members to feel at home in Katsina, which he believed is NYSC friendly state.

Jobe assured them of a conducive atmosphere throughout their service year, encouraging them to shun cultism, political and religious intolerance, or any other form of antisocial behavior.

“In the course of the exercise, you will be introduced to National issues bordering on good governance, national security, and development, as well as the overall economy,” Jobe added.
