Olamide Drops New Single ‘Science Student’

YBNL boss, Olamide, on Thursday released his first single for the year 2018, ‘Science Student’.

The track which already has fans gushing with excitement, was co-produced by Young John and BBanks.

It comes less than two months after he dropped his 7th studio album titled ‘Lagos Nawa’.

The 17-track album featured tracks such as ‘Wo’ which has remained a major hit, and artistes such as Tiwa Savage, Reminisce and Timaya.

Since he entered the music industry, the hip-hop rapper grew famous especially among youths on the streets for his style of music, mostly delivered in the Yoruba language.

YBNL boss, Olamide, on Friday released a new album titled ‘Lagos Nawa’.

The 17-track album marks his 7th since his debut was released in 2011.

The album features hit tracks such as ‘Wo’ and artistes such as Tiwa Savage, Reminisce and Timaya.

It comes barely a year after the artiste released his last album, ‘The Glory’ and fans are already gushing with excitement.

Since he entered the music industry, the hip-hop rapper grew famous especially among youths on the streets for his style of music, mostly delivered in the Yoruba language.

Skales Reveals How Olamide Supported Him When Broke

Rapper and Songwriter Raoul John Njeng popularly known as Skales has revealed the person behind the success of his music video ‘Shake Body’ heaping praises on YBNL boss, Olamide.

Skales took to his twitter page to reveal how Olamide funded his music video, when he was broke, stating that his life has never been the same since then.

In May 2014, Skales established his own record label, OHK music and released ‘Shake Body’ as the first single from his upcoming album.

Why I Didn’t Pursue A College Degree – YBNL Star, Davolee

YBNL’s latest signee, David Shokoya, popularly known as Davolee, has narrated why he was not able to pursue a college degree and rather opted for music.

According to him, the economic hardship as well as the rate of unemployment in Nigeria, prevented him from furthering his education.

He revealed this in an exclusive interview with Channels Television’s Entertainment News, where he laid bare his struggles and travails and how he has gradually overcome, especially since his talent caught the attention of the YBNL boss, Olamide.

Born in the Isolo area of Lagos state, Shokoya revealed that the street life had a huge influence on his music.

The artist stated that he realised his talent at a young age and while there was no one to sponsor his university education, he thought it wise to go into full time music and face the hustle squarely.

Speaking further on how he got the attention of the YBNL music imprint, Shokoya explained that he promoted himself a lot via social media.

“I took my Instagram personal then I do freestyles and I tag celebrities as much as possible – So luckily for me, Baddo got into it and he messaged me on Instagram”; a situation which he described as unbelievable and very emotional for him.

In November 2016, the YBNL leader Olamide revealed Davolee had become a member of the team in a video posted online.

Although the hard knock life has made it behind him, the budding artist says the lessons it thought him are invaluable.

Olamide Set To Drop 6th Studio Album ‘The Glory’

Olamide, EtisalatYBNL Boss, Olamide, has revealed that he would be launching his 6th studio album, ‘The Glory’, on December 26, 2016.

The rap artist who has steadily released hit tracks for his fans over the last couple of years of his career, revealed this a couple of days ago via a face book post.

Hinting on the kind of tracks fans should expect, he said “It’ll be a hip-hop album this time, no experimenting – just rap. I’m doing this for the culture and hardcore fans”.

The Glory which he also calls a ‘street tape’, would be launched on the same day the artist would be hosting his annual music concert, ‘Olamide Live In Concert’ (OLIC) 3, Beast Mode.

This would make him the only Nigerian artist to release an album every year since starting his music career in 2011.

Olamide, popularly nicknamed Badoo, has signed on artists such as Viktoh, Adekunle Gold, Chinko Ekun, DJ Enimoney and Lil Kesh, who has gone on to create his own Label, Y.A.G.I.

Kidominant: How 14-Yr-Old DJ Grew To Become Davido’s Music Producer

KidominantAyoola Oladapo Agboola, now known to the world as Kiddominant, has revealed how he became one of Nigeria’s most sought after music producers.

In a chat with Channels Television, he talked about growing as a music producer and how he met Davido.

His first real shot at stardom came with the song, Rihanna, singer Orezi’s break out single.

Since then he has been working with top artists around Nigeria including Nigerian superstar, Davido for whom he produced the hit tracks, ‘Dodo’ and ‘The Money’ which featured YBNL Boss, Olamide.

Kiddominant said he met Davido in 2014, through his friend, Danagog, who is also a signed artist to HKN gang.

He disclosed that back in 2014, Davido wanted to sign Orezi, and suggested to work with him since Orezi was going to be signed to the HKN gang.

The signing of Orezi to the label didn’t work out but it did not affect the relationship between Davido and Kiddominant.

The music producer, who his presently working on Davido’s highly anticipated sophomore album, said that the album is going to be massive and the world should expect something very different.

He also disclosed that the world should expect more international works from him very soon.

‘Love Me’ Song Inspired By Nigerian Weddings – Aramide

Aramide-Love MeAramide says the song, ‘Love Me’ was inspired by weddings, many of which she attended about the time the song was composed.

The Afro-soul singer recently revealed this during an interview with Entertainment News on Channels Television.

“I think I attended too many weddings a couple of years ago and I just wanted to create a song that people (DJs) could play at weddings and people would listen to and fall in love and feel a certain type of way and all that,” she said.

The video for the song, which was released early April has garnered about 70,000 views.

About her collaboration with Adekunle Gold, the first in her career, Aramide said that she wanted to make sure her brand was recognisable and distinct before working with other acts.

“I wanted people to just know me, my voice (and) my music, before bringing other people into it …,” she said.

The rising star, who admitted she had had tough times pursuing music, said that she was working her way up to the unveil of her yet to be titled debut album which would be ‘soulful’.

“The album is going to be very interesting” and “it is going to define me as an artiste, my style and the various things I stand for as a person,” she said.

YBNL Star, Adekunle Gold Reveals Title Of Debut Album

Adekunle GoldUrban Highlife singer, Adekunle Gold has revealed the title of the full body of work – GOLD.

In a telephone chat with Channels TV’s Entertainment News presenter, Mayowa Ogundele, the ‘Orente’ crooner said that although he’s keeping details of guest features close to his chest, the album will be released sometime between May and June and it will contain many surprises.

“It’s in the works. If I’m featuring anybody or not, I am not ready to say yet, but, definitely there are surprises on the album’.

He described the album as ‘a piece of a mind’ as he tells different stories about his life experiences as well as the stories of other people.

“I’ve been working round the clock to make sure it’s an amazing one”, he said, adding that Pheelz, Oscar and Seyi Keys are some of the producers working on the album.

According to him, the album will be one big ‘gist’, an avenue for him to tell stories he didn’t get a chance to tell. “I’m just to gist about everything”, he said.

Adekunle Gold took Nigeria’s music industry by storm with the release of his debut song as a solo artiste, Sade, a story about his reluctant love interest, which has been followed by two more hits – Orente, Pick Up and now a new track he calls Ready.

His unique sound, a rhythmic story-telling delivery have seen him win top awards – All Africa Music Awards, Headies – within a short time of making his entry into the industry.

With the release of ‘Ready’, a song in which he professes his readiness to be in love, the YBNL star is, perhaps, telling the world that his debut album is READY.

Naija Ninja Act, Karma Drops Islander Ft. Olamide

Directed by Unlimited L.A, the video portrays YBNL acts as well as the wave-making “Shakiti Bobo” dance moves.

The video portrays all the artistes signed to YBNL in fun mode, dancing and drinking.

‘Lagos Boys’ video is the third visual from Olamide this year after the earlier release of ‘Melo melo’, and the highly popular ‘Bobo’.
