Gunmen suspected to be members of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram, on Thursday killed two police officers in Gombe, North-East Nigeria.

The Police spokesman who said no suspect has so far been arrested in connection with the killing maintained that investigation into the incident have since commenced.
He appealed to members of the public to volunteer useful information that would reveal the perpetrators of the act.
Witnesses say the gunmen who arrived at the check point on a tricycle wearing long kaftans, shot sporadically to scare other people before killing the policemen.
One other civilian was left with gunshot injuries and is said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
The killings are coming just four days after a faction of the sect had announced a ceasefire across the country stressing that women and children are suffering as a result of the insurgency.
The sect has called on the federal government to rebuild the destroyed mosque of its former leader Mohammed Yusuf, and release detained members across the country as conditions for the ceasefire.
