The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved contracts worth N18.6 billion for various projects in the country.

The Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku who briefed state house correspondents after the meeting said approvals were given to the Kaduna state government for the provision of water for Zaria city to the tune of N13.4 billion.

The other projects approved are, the construction of the Nkporo-Abiriba-Ohafia road in Abia state and the Adaokere-Okoni-Amedokhion road in Edo state.

The roads are said to be in deplorable conditions but will enhance the socio-economic activities of the states when rehabilitated.

Also approved by the FEC is the passage into law, the Crimes against humanity, War Crimes, Genocide and related offences Bill 2012 designed to end impunity in Nigeria  as well as address Nigeria’s security challenges.
