At the ceremony in Akure, the state capital, Mr Mimiko challenged the new Council boss to use their creative ingenuity to develop their councils.
He urged to avoid unnecessary recruitment and ensure every worker is rightly placed and committed to duty.
He also enjoined them to add to the wealth at the local government level as well as deliberately unite the communities.
“You as chairmen of these interim committees must be at the vanguard of re-awakening the local government areas to the manifest function of day-to-day administration of our grassroots.”
“At the state level, we are devoting renewed energy to initiatives and efforts that will bring about rapid industrialisation and its attendant employment opportunities,” he said.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the new Caretaker Chairman of Ifedore Local Government, Mr Pius Adebusuyi gave assurance that they will leave no stone unturned in developing their councils.
He also promised that they will not betray the trust reposed in them by the government and people of the State.
The 18 new Local Government bosses’ names were forwarded by Governor Mimiko to the State House of Assembly after the dissolution of the former.
They are the third set of Local Government Caretaker Chairmen since the inception of Governor Mimiko’s administration in 2009.
