The Yobe state governor Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam says though Boko Haram insurgent has inflicted pains to Nigerians, the insurgents will not succeed in their mission.
Inspecting the extent of destruction caused by the recent attack by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect on Buni-Yadi the headquarters of Gujba local government area of the state , Governor Ibrahim Gaidam condemned the act in its totality describing it as callous and barbaric.
The Local government Education Secretariat, the fire service Unit, resident of the divisional police officer, temporary police station and a residential quarter were the places destroyed by the insurgent.
While commending security agents for the efforts so far in curbing the situation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam says his administration will continue to assist the security agents in the fight against the insurgents saying it will soon become history.
The governor however assured that as both Muslims and Christians continue to offer prayers for peace to reign in the country, the incessant attacks will soon be over, hinting that there is nothing religious about Boko Haram.
He said Boko Haram’s ideology is completely unacceptable, as no religion believes in killing and compelling others to accept their ways of worship, while sympathizing with those that lost their loved ones and property as a result of the attack.
Suspected Boko Haram extremists launched an attack on Buni-Yadi, the headquarters of Gujba Local Government area of Yobe state leading to the death of three persons while several others were injured on Wednesday 18th of September.
