The the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prof Wale Oladipo, has commended the ongoing conduct of the governorship election in Osun State.

Speaking after being accredited at PU001, Enuwa Square, Palace frontage, Ife East Local Government, Professor Oladipo commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for ensuring timely arrival of election materials at their respective polling centres.

The PDP, Secretary was speaking shortly before the PDP flag bearer, Iyiola Omisore cast his vote.

Senator Iyiola Omisore, while commending the conduct of the election so far, however acknowledged that for any endeavour that involves human beings, there are bound to be a few problems here and there.

He went on to appeal to the electorate to remain calm and law abiding.

A total of 1,407,222 registered voters spread across three senatorial districts, with each of the districts having 10 Local Governments, are expected to cast their votes.

Osogbo, the state capital, has the highest number of registered voters with a 110,670, followed closely by Ife Central with a voting population of 95,471.

19 domestic and 10 foreign observers have been accredited by INEC to monitor the election.
