The World Igbo Congress, WIC, has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term in office, citing projects his administration has carried out in the South-East and South- South region as some of the reasons for their support.

Chief Iwuanyanwu, who was addressing journalists in Owerri, the Imo state capital, said the decision to support President Jonathan’s second tenure is part of the resolutions reached at the just concluded World Igbo Congress held in the United States of America few weeks ago.

He said people of the South East, irrespective of where they reside, have unanimously endorsed President Jonathan for a second term in office to complete the constitutional requirement of 8 years.

He added that the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan in the last 3 years of his administration is evident in the south east and one good turn deserves another.

The south east leader also noted that the World Igbo Congress has resolved that Nigerians and Igbos in particular must unite and support President Jonathan’s transformation agenda and his efforts  towards combating the insecurity challenge in the country.
