The Anambra State Police Command has paraded a woman, Ebele Awinonu, for selling her one month old baby boy for N200, 000 to a child trafficking syndicate alongside 17 suspects arrested for various crimes.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Uche Ezeh, said the syndicate was arrested when Ms Awinonu was on her way to complete the transaction at Ihiala by the men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).

Also on display are bodies of suspected kidnappers who were gunned down in a shootout with the police on their way from collecting ransom from the family of a kidnap victim at Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.

The 17 suspects were paraded at the headquarters of the Special Anti Robbery Squad in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra state. Three of the suspected criminals were also on display with one of them being Charlie Parker, a notorious criminal suspect, who has been on the police wanted list for years.

Among those also paraded, was a woman who claimed to be a Deputy Superintendent of Police, involved in illegal auction business alongside car snatchers and rape suspects.

The Police Public Relations Officer warned criminals to either stop their nefarious activities or relocate from Anambra as the police would stop at nothing to apprehend them and deal with them accordingly.
