Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, showed his fitness, as he led his side in a 2-1 win in a football match that was designed as part of his 78th birthday programme.
The former President on Wednesday, scored both goals to give the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Foundation Football Team a 2-1 victory over the Ogun State Government Football Team.
Playing in a novelty football match, at the 5-aside Astro- turf pitch of the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State’s capital, Obasanjo scored both goals in the second half of the game.
Obasanjo played alongside Professor Akin Mabogunje, Chief O. Olopade, Deacon Victor Durodola and Prof Peter Okebukola.
The Players in the other team played against, led by Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, were Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr Taiwo Adeoluwa, Commissioner for Commerce & Industry, Bimbo Ashiru, Commissioner Environment, Ayo Olubori, and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Muyiwa Oladipo.
