Haliru BelloA Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Haliru Bello and his son, Abba Bello.

The bail is in the sum of 300 million naira each and two sureties each.

One of each of the sureties must be a civil servant not below Level 12 in the civil service while the other must be owner of landed properties in Abuja.

The accused persons are also to deposit their travel documents with the court.

The trial judge ordered that his orders as to their remand at the last adjournment was still in place pending when they meet their bail condition.

The trial judge had ordered that his co-accused and son be remanded in Kuje Prisons pending the determination of his bail application. The Inspector General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase, was also asked to supervise the stay of the former National Chairman of the PDP, Haliru Bello, at the Abuja clinics.

The former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), his son and their company, Bam Ventures, pleaded not guilty to a 4-count charge of money laundering brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Mr Haliru Bello, who arrived in an ambulance and wheeled into the court room alongside his son were accused of receiving the sum of 300 million Naira from the immediate past National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki, for political campaigns.
