Ibrahim Idris, PoliceThe acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, has inaugurated a new management team of the Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking on Monday in ‎Abuja while decorating the newly promoted Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, Mr Idris called on the Police to be responsive to the needs of the citizens.

He asked them to remain focused in providing leadership that would enhance effective policing in Nigeria.

The Police chief advised the Police personnel to perform their constitutional and statutory roles with integrity and accountability.

A retired IGP and Chairman, Police Service Commission, Mike Okiro, commented on the recent retirement of 21 officers who were senior to the current IGP.

He asked that the matter should not be misinterpreted because the practice of retiring Police officers who are senior to a newly appointed IG had been in existence before now.

The Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazau (Rtd), on his part advised the new Police boss to remain focused on his assignment.

“Enhancing security, revitalizing the economy and tackling corruption, you have roles to play in all three,” he said.
