The 422-man campaign list released earlier by the PCC Director-General (Lalong) had generated some controversy but the party appears to be taking a second look at the list ahead of the official flag off of campaigns by the Presidential Campaign Council.

Some of those excluded in the list are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and a former Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.

Lalong subsequently postponed the inauguration of the PCC members for the expansion of the list to “accommodate more stakeholders and interests within the APC family”.

Similarly, Adamu in a leaked letter accused Tinubu of appointing members of the PCC without the approval of  APC National Working Committee.

Adamu demanded the immediate withdrawal of the list, warning that any sign of disarray in the party’s ranks would undermine the spirit of the campaign and give an undue alarm to party followers across the country.

However, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, distanced the party from the letter accusing Tinubu of breaching the agreement regarding the composition of campaign council members.
