An explosion rocked Bodija area of Ibadan on Tuesday, January 16 leading to the death of two persons and 77 others were injured.
The incident which threw residents of Oyo State into panic has attracted condolence messages from prominent figures including Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and his Ogun State counterpart, Dapo Abiodun.

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, blamed the explosion on the illegal miners, saying preliminary investigations by security agencies revealed that the explosion caused by explosive devices stored by illegal miners.
He also said though investigations were still ongoing, anyone found culpable would be brought to book.
