Eniete Takes Over As 7th Commander Of Special Task Force

Major General David Enetie has been inducted as the new and 7th commander of the Special Task Force operation ‘safe haven’ which has been maintaining peace and order in Plateau state, north central Nigeria.

Major General David Enetie, who will be directing the affairs of the Joint Military Task Force, takes over as the seventh commander of the task force from Major General Henry Ayoola, as part of the recent reshuffling going on in the military, having spent about sixteen months at the helm of affairs as commander, Special Task Force in Plateau state.

Major General Henry Ayoola has however been redeployed to the defence headquarters.

The handover ceremony which took place at the task force headquarters in Jos, Plateau state with senior security officers including civil society organisations as well as community leaders in attendance was a colourful one, as the outgoing commander expressed appreciation to officers and men of the operation, for their tireless efforts and the cooperation of the people in ensuring that peace reigns in the state.

In the same vein, the new commander, solicited for strong synergy between security agencies involved in the operation and also build on the success of his predecessor in restoring order and peace in the state.

The special task force was established in 2010, following the various crises that bedevilled Plateau state with a mandate to restore law and order through a joint military effort.
