A group under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State known as Kwara Afresh Campaign Organization has threatened to institute a recall process on the lawmaker representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Senator Bukola Saraki, whenever his letter of defection is read at the floor of the senate.
The group, led by Abdulwahab Lawal, while addressing journalists in Ilorin, on Tuesday, noted that the defection of the Senator and the state governor, Abdulfattah Ahmed to All Progressives Congress (APC) was a blessing to the PDP, adding that they have no political value to threaten PDP in the state.
He added that most members of the PDP in the state did not defect with them, assuring that the PDP has the largest followers and will clinch and retake the state by next year’s election.
Meanwhile, Senator Saraki had on Tuesday raised the issue of the letter on the floor of the Senate, insisting that the Senate President’s refusal to read the letter was a breach of the lawmakers’ privilege.
But Senator Mark ruled Senator Saraki out of order, saying that he cannot rule on the matter as the case was in court.
