osinbajoThe Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has stressed the need for everyone saddled with the leadership of any people to strive to provide fair and just governance.

Professor Osinbajo was speaking on Wednesday on the topic ‘Harmonising Virtues to Gain Heaven and Earthly Prosperity’ at the 73rd birthday lecture series of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye held in Lagos.

The APC’s Vice Presidential candidate was the guest speaker for the day.

He is one of the top pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and now the Vice Presidential candidate of the APC. In his speech, he urged believers to show love to their enemies and care for the vulnerable.

‘Sacrifice Of Personal Ambitions’

Professor Osinbajo emphasised that every nation had its challenges but also has the enormous capacity to subdue them.

“Serving others is sacrifice of personal ambitions for the good of others. The sacrifice of personal ambitions is crucial and a way of greatness,” the pastor said.

The RCCG Pastor also told the gathering that they had the power to question government activities, stressing that those in power were elected by the people to serve.

“We have been placed in positions of greater significance. If we choose to, we have the power to influence government; to say to the government, why do we not have free healthcare for the poor ? Why do we not have free education?  Why are you not providing for the elderly who are poor and for the people with disability who are poor?’’

The Professor also emphasised the need to have integrity, explaining that without it, there was no way believers could show leadership and attain significance.

He also added that “one of the big problems that we have in our nation today is an absence of integrity. It underlines every single failure of government”.

Pastor Adeboye while addressing the gathering pleaded with everyone to yield to Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The lecture lasted for an hour.
