The Journalism profession in Nigeria has evolved with significant growth in many areas including the quality of practitioners, technological interventions and content but a lot needs to be done in the area of investigative journalism for societal development.
This submission was made by the Oyo state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi during the commissioning of a State of the Art Printing Press for a newspaper company in Ibadan.
Gov. Ajimobi who expressed satisfaction at the positive changes in the quality of practice however decried haphazard job done on stories that should have been thoroughly investigated to avoid misinformation.

He charged journalists across the country to devise means of effective investigative journalism as a tool for societal justice and development.
On the state of the nation and sustenance of peace, the matriarch of the Awolowo empire, Mama H.I.D Awolowo says peace can only be achieved if all Nigerians put heads together and agree that it is a collective responsibility.
