The Akwa Ibom State Governorship Election Tribunal will on Wednesday, hear several applications raised by parties in a suit challenging the election of the State Governor, Emmanuel Udom.
At a resumed hearing of the petition after a two weeks break, the Peoples Democratic Party was to move its motion questioning the validity of the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate.
However, the counsel to the APC, Dayo Akinlaja, told the court he was not prepared to respond to the application and there after urged the court for a short adjournment .
The tribunal also allowed parties in the suit, to regularise documents that had not been properly filed.
The APC, however, asked for time to move an application, seeking to call additional witnesses.
The Akwa Ibom State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had earlier turned down the request to disqualify the witnesses of the APC, who gave testimonies in the last governorship election in the state.
