Air Force, IDPs, MalnutritionThe Nigerian Air Force is set to commence a medical outreach in the Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) camp in Bama.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, gave the directive that a medical outreach be conducted in the camp to check the rate of malnutrition.

He expressed worry over the health condition of the IDPs during his recent visit to the camp in Maiduguri, the Borno State in northeast Nigeria.

Malnutrition is estimated to be responsible for more than one third of deaths in children under the age of five.

Malnourished children under this age exist in their thousands in various IDPs camps in the Northeast, accounting for a large number of deaths being recorded in those camps.
