The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rescheduled the House of Assembly Election for the Nasarawa/Binyeri State Constituency of Adamawa State, following the death of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mr. Adamu Kwanate.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Mr. Kashim Gaidam, told Channels Television that the rescheduling of the poll was to allow the APC and people of the constituency to find a replacement within one week.

Kwanate, who was the member representing the constituency, was said to have collapsed during a campaign for his re-election, and later died in a hospital in Yola on Wednesday.
“Mr. Kwanate was the member representing the constituency; he died a natural death on Wednesday,” said Mr. Gaidam
