The Katsina State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has returned unopposed its immediate past Chairman, Comrade Tukur Hassan Dan-Ali of the Katsina State Radio for another four years term.

The new executives include Isma’il Adamu of the FRCN as its vice chairman, Abdullatif Yusuf of Katsina State Television as its secretary, and Auwal Halliru of NTA as assistant secretary.

Other members of the newly sworn-in executives are Yunusa Umar Faruk of FRCN as Auditor and Ibrahim Rabi’u as Treasurer.

Barrister Zayyanna Ibrahim administered the oath of office to the new executives at the Katsina State NUJ Secretariat on Wednesday under the watchful eyes of the NUJ President, Comrade Chris Isiguzo, who was represented by his Vice President, Northwest Zone, Comrade Muhammad Tukur.

Speaking on behalf of the new executives, Dan-Ali promised to continue creating a conducive atmosphere for all the NUJ members in the state to excel in the journalism profession.

In a related development, the Katsina State Chapter of the Nigeria Women Journalists (NAWOJ) on Wednesday also returned unopposed Hajiya Hannatu Muhammad of the NTA as Chairperson for another three-year term among other new executives.

The new NAWOJ executives have Safiya Yusuf as vice chairperson, Faith Awa Maji, of the Nigerian Pilot Newspaper as Secretary, and Hannatu Mani Habu as Assistant Secretary.

Others include Maryam Mukhtar – Treasurer, Fauziyya Lawal Mamman – Financial Secretary and Aishatu Ibrahim – Auditor.
