A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in the South East and party’s board of trustees, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has discredited the Baraje-led faction of the party maintaining that Alhaji Bamanga Tukur remains the only recognised chairman of the party.
Speaking in his country home in Atta, Ikeduru local government area of Imo state, he said the action of the Baraje-Led faction is a calculated attempt by opposition and enemies of the ruling party to destroy the organisation, and cause chaos in the country.
He added that the scenario playing out is a political gimmick meant to damage the image of the party.
Chief Iwuanyanwu said what is more important to Nigerians now, is the unity of the country which should be properly addressed.
