iiThe Priest of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Wuse Zone 2 Abuja, Reverend Father Innocent Jooji, has asked Nigerians to complement the Federal Government’s effort in reducing the rate of insurgency in the country.

Briefing reporters in Abuja, Reverend Father Jooji appealed for the provision of information to security agencies to avert all forms of security threats.

The clergyman condemned the action of some Nigerians who hide under the guise of religion to incite violence, saying that religion should only be used for moral and spiritual upliftment.

He also stressed the need for Nigeria to remain united in spite of the travails.

“The Lord is the owner of the world and it is no use killing one another,” the cleric said.

On several occasions, security agencies have advised Nigerians to provide them with information that could help uncover security threats, as they try to contain the insurgency in the northeast.

A terrorist group, Boko Haram, has carried out series of attacks on villages, churches and schools in the region, as they push for an Islamic state and an end to western education.
