A man, his wife and their grandson have reportedly been killed in a house fire in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Our correspondent reported that the incident happened at exactly 03:46 PM on Friday at Ori-Eru, Idikan.

Confirming the report, a statement by the CSP Olaniyan Jibola from Mapo Division in the state, said on arrival at the address which was a residential storey building of six rooms, it was discovered that the victims died, while attempting to keep the room warm with a naked fire due to the cold weather.
“On arrival, we met an upper floor of a storey residential building of six rooms on fire. We swiftly swung into action and the fire was completely extinguished.
“They slept off after putting on the fire,” the statement said.
Apart from the three dead bodies recovered from the fire, five persons were rescued alive from the building.
The fire, however, did not affect the ground floor of the building and other nearby properties.
In bringing the situation under control, the police team said it was assisted by a team of Amotekun officials led by Gbenga Akinyemi from the North West Division.
