The Gombe state government on Friday donated some food items to the Yobe state government as its support to the state.

Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam took delivery of some food items donated to the state by the Gombe state Government.

The food items presented are also to support people of the state who are victims of the current state of emergency imposed two months ago by the president Dr Goodluck Jonathan.

Presenting the letter containing the items, condolences and sympathy to the Yobe state Governor, the Gombe state commissioner for special duties, Alhaji Jallo Abubakar Bajoga informed the governor that they were in the state to present the items based on the directive of Gombe state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo .

In the letter, the Gombe state governor expressed his condolences and sympathy to the government and people of Yobe state over the loss of lives and property suffered by many in the wake of the insurgent attacks.

Governor Dankwambo prayed that the Almighty help restore peace in Yobe state and the nation in general.

Responding, the Yobe state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam expressed appreciation to his Gombe counterpart for the support and said that the Yobe state government is committed to doing everything possible to bringing the insurgency to an end.

Food items provided by the Gombe state government include; 600 bags of Rice, 300 bags of maize among others.
