A member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has said that former Chief Security Officer to late General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-mustapha, has some explanation to give to Nigerians.

Mr Fani-Kayode’s challenge came in view of the former CSO’s outburst about former president, Olusegun Obasanjo’s 18-page letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, where he alleged that President Jonathan was training assassins with the help of Al-Mustapha.

The former Aviation Minister has asked Al-Mustapha to explain to Nigerians where he was on the day Obasanjo forwarded his “Before It Is Too Late” letter to the President.

In an interview with Channels Television in Kano, Fani-Kayode said that Obasanjo has no time for Al-mustapha’s invitation to engage in a public debate on the issue.

The former minister also claimed that he believed the allegation that Mr. Mustapha is being used to train snipers for political assassination, ahead of the 2015 elections.

He specifically criticised Al-mustapha on the allegations that he was explicit in the assassination of politicians and military officers during the regime of late Head of State, General Sani Abacha.

Fani-Kayode, who claimed that he was in Kano to consult with Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and other stakeholders on the participation of Major Hamza Al-mustapha on the crisis, also blamed President Jonathan’s administration for the current insurgency in the North and the militancy in the Niger-Delta region.

Fani-Kayode also expressed his concerns about Nigeria’s political clime if people like Mustapha are shortlisted to frustrate the opposition.

All efforts to speak with Mr. Mustapha in Kano were not successful.
